A New Adventure

Hello and Happy New Year from the Aldens!!!

2023 ended with a new focus.

We lost our second son William. Our hearts now have two holes. But we don’t lack in love and support from our friends and family.

This year we have decided to pursue adoption.

I know I know. Some of you might be thinking why are you wanting to go down a path that could end in heartache again. Birth families changing their minds and not finding a match are both possibilities. But don’t forget those two little boys are mine and my children are stubborn and never give up. They would not want us to give up either.

The reason we are choosing to start adoption now is because it can take 2 to 3 years to get a placement so we are starting as soon as possible. We are being smart and taking it one step at a time.

We have started the paperwork process which can take up to 6 months. We have almost everything done and then we can move on to the Home Study.

A Home study is key to seeking financial assistance through grants and donations. Once we have those in place it will just be a waiting game while the wheels of time turn.

We aren’t expecting a fast turn around. Our lives have never gone to plan. You want something so bad and it can just turn to complete calamity without warning.

We hope that when the time comes you all could assist us with getting the word out that we are adopting and sharing our fundraising and crowdfunding sources.

The last four years has taught us that people are caring and giving when it comes to the loss of a child never mind two. It is that caring and giving that has spurred us to take on this great new adventure.

Have a great new year and we hope it is merry and bright!

  1. I am so happy to hear that you are pursuing adoption. Two people with so much love to give and being willing to risk all of the heartache to provide love and a happy and healthy home to a beautiful baby is such an inspiration. I’m praying for your sweet family. Cozy
